Bandana - Justice (Juneteenth 2025)

Bandana - Justice (Juneteenth 2025)

All Very Goods

This year's Juneteenth bandana features a bouquet of daisies and Black-Eyed Susans (Rudbeckia Hirta). These flowers are both native to Texas and bloom in the summer. They would have been growing wild and in full bloom when the Juneteenth announcement was made.

Both Daisies and Black Eyed Susan have been used for thousands of years in Native American ritual and medicine. They were used in a root tea to treat colds, snakebites and treating wounds. These traditions were shared with enslaved and formerly enslaved men and women who then used these flowers to treat their communities.

Symbolically the Daisies represents endurance and beauty in harsh environments. They are said to ward off negative energy and provide protection. Black Eyed Susans were said to also possess protective qualities. The flowers with their bright petals and dark centers have come to represent resilience, determination, motivation and justice.

The bandana comes packaged with a mini (5.5" x 5.5") print of the illustration and a card with suggestions on how to wear a bandana.
