DIY Gift Bag Pattern - Digital Download

This product is a digital download of an image file (.png). The file contains a template that can be used to make your own gift bags. You can use the patterns provided here and then print the template on the reverse side or choose whatever paper you'd like!

Hot tip: The template is formatted to print on letter sized paper (8.5" x 11"). However, you can adjust the scale on your printer to make the template larger, and/or adjust the dimensions of your finished bag.

Basic instructions: Choose your paper, make gift bags and have fun! :)

More detailed Instructions:

     Supplies needed/ recommended:

• print out of template (2 pages)
• scissors
• glue or tape
• pen or pencil (if using the template to trace onto another paper)
• hole punch (optional)
• ribbon, washi tape, stickers, colored pencils, markers ( for closing and/or decorating the finished bag)

     Steps:

1. Cut out the gift bag parts by cutting around the solid black outline - tip: when cutting out the darts at the bottom of the bag, make sure to cut up to the circle.
2. Glue (or tape) the two sides of the template together. Use the star in the center to make sure the two side are aligned correctly.
3. Crease the gift bag at the dotted lines - suggestion: use a thin piece of card stock or ruler to get straight creases.
4. Start to assemble the bag by making the bottom - glue/tape the sides labeled A to the bottom, also labelled A
5. Glue/tape the side of the bag labelled B - make sure the glue is on the correct side so that the B section is glued to the inside of the bag
6. Glue/tape the bottom labelled C to finish the bag
7. If you want to give the bag more structure, cut out a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the base and glue it to the inside bottom of the bag.
8. From here you can finish the bag however you'd like!
9. If you want to use it as a bag, squeeze the two sides together and punch holes and use ribbon to make the handles, or feed the ribbon through both holes and tie a bow.
10. Decorate your bags and show off!

I've done my best to make the template easy to download and use but can not guarantee that you won't run into any issues and/or frustrations, including but not limited to glue on your fingers, paper cuts, and slightly wonkly looking bags. I also can't guarantee that whomever you give the bags to will appreciate them. Downloading this template implies understanding and agreement.
